Web Developer
Turing's Craft (requires login)

CodeLab, a product of Turing's Craft, is a web-based interactive programming exercise system for introductory programming courses. It is currently in use by over 100 institutions of learning. I am working as a web developer at Turing's Craft, adding functionality to and increasing the usability of the CodeLab interface. I have implemented a self-service system that allows professors to independently create new CodeLab courses for their students, and I am currently working on improvements to the response students are given upon submitting an incorrect answer, allowing them to more easily discover their errors. Programming for this site involves JSP, Java, JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX, HTML, and CSS, as well as interaction with a mySQL database.
Web Developer
mathlynx.com (requires login)

MathLynx is an upcoming series of web-based mathematics textbooks, covering pre-calculus through multi-variable calculus. Each level includes an interactive textbook, with graphs, tools, and animations, as well as interactive tasks and evaluations which can be assigned to students. My focus has been on the creation of dynamically-generated, manipulatable, front-end graphs using JSXGraph, a JavaScript library for mathematical graphing. In programming for MathLynx, I have worked in PHP, Python, Sage, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, JSXGraph, HTML, and CSS.
Computer Science Department Tutor
CUNY Brooklyn College

I tutored students in introductory courses of the Computer Science department at CUNY Brooklyn College. During my walk-in hours, students were able to come for assistance with projects in C++, Java, or Microsoft Office. I would assist them on-the-spot, giving them guidance toward reaching their goal while not providing them with the answer, so that they would be able to solve the problem for themselves.
Photography Instructor
Appel Farm Arts and Music Center

I spent four summers as a Photography Instructor at Appel Farm Arts and Music Center's residential Summer Arts Camp. I developed curriculum for and taught four-week long courses on Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced analog photography and darkroom techniques, in addition to specialized courses on Historical Techniques, Alternative Photographic Processes, Documentary Strategies, and Advanced Independent Study.
Game Developer

I have programmed and done the artwork for several web and mobile games, both in teams and individually. While I am most comfortable working in Adobe Flash and ActionScript 3.0, I have also programmed for the iPhone in Objective C and I am proficient in the iPhone SDK. I put my background in design to good use, combining my artistic and programming abilities, which allows for a more streamlined game design process. I am particularly interested in the educational possibilities for web- and mobile-based games.
